Pupillage

We are pleased to confirm that the Bar Council's recent Monitoring of Pupillage Review concluded that New Square Chambers "stood out in its pupil arrangements of an exceptional standard".

At New Square Chambers we aim to recruit bright and enthusiastic pupils with a proven academic background. We are an informal and friendly set, and encourage our pupils to take an active part in the life of chambers. Pupils will learn something of the practices of other members of chambers in addition to those of their pupil-supervisors.

Chambers offers two 12 month pupillages, terminable after 6 months on either side, which carry with them an award of £35,000 each. The closing date for applications for pupillage beginning October 2009 is 15 February 2008. Applications should be submitted by email to pupillage@newsquarechambers.co.uk.

Chambers is not a member of OLPAS and applications should be made directly to Chambers by email, in the manner set out in our Chambers' Pupillage Policy, which can be viewed in Adobe Acrobat (pdf) format. You can download a copy of the free Adobe Reader if you do not already have it installed on your system. A copy of our application form can be downloaded in Microsoft Word format for your convenience.
